Input Fields

Flight Parameters
Three positive integers, separated by spaces. The first is your flight level, the second your magnetic track and the third your ground speed in knots. For example: 370 020 455 is flight level 370, magnetic track 020° and ground speed 455kt.
Distances
Two positive integers, separated by spaces. The first is the total sector length in nautical miles, the second is distance to run, also in nautical miles. For example 1000 300 is a 1000nm sector which has 300nm left to run.
Times
Three integers, separated by spaces. The first is destination timezone offset, which is the only entry in the whole form that may be negative. The second is scheduled time of arrival in UTC and the third is estimated time of arrival, also in UTC. For example -2 1000 0950 means that the local time at the destination is 2 hours behind UTC, the scheduled arrival is 1000Z and the ETA is 0950Z.
Waypoint
Two positive integers, giving the position of a waypoint that you wish to reference your current position to. The first is the bearing to the waypoint and the second is the distance to the waypoint in nautical miles. For example 270 100 is the position of a waypoint 100nm to the West of you.

Output

Distances and speeds are converted to use statute miles. Ground speed in terms of seconds to fly one mile, and distance in terms of fraction of sector completed are also provided.

Tracks and bearings are converted to “fuzzy” directions, such as “North by North-West”. The bearing in the Position field is also reversed, so that position relative to the waypoint can be read off.

For time data, time left, ETA in UK and destination time, current local time at destination, and the relationship between ETA and STA are calculated.

The output is live: it updates every five seconds to take account of changes in position and time since the relevant input data field was last modified.

Updating

To update to the latest version, simply open or refresh the page whilst connected to the Internet. If you have installed the page as a web app, there may not be an obvious way of refreshing, in which case close the app then restart it.
